<body> <p align="center"><b><font face="Georgia, Times, Serif">Welcome to the Mat-Su LEPC Web</font></b></p> <p align="center"><font face="Arial" size="2">The Matanuska-Susitna Borough's Local Emergency Planning Committee, or LEPC, is a voluntary organization which was established in an Emergency Planning District designated by the Alaska State Emergency Response Commission (SERC).</font></p> <p align="center"><img border="2" src="images/volcano.jpg" align="middle" hspace="1" vspace="1" alt="Volcano" width="118" height="114"> <img border="2" src="images/Flood.JPG" align="middle" hspace="1" vspace="1" alt="Flood" width="127" height="114"></p> <p align="center"><font face="Arial" size="2"><br> Both SERC and LEPCs were created to meet the requirements of the federal Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, also known as the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) Title III for emergency response planning.<br> As a very important aspect of its mandate, the Mat-Su LEPC is required to receive the annual Tier Two (Chemical Inventory) Reports from local industries.<br> The LEPC uses this information to perform hazard assessments for Borough communities.
